Thanks to Verve Search, for the first time, we're hosting speed mentoring sessions as part of the conference, Friday 13th September between 16:00-17:30 in the Mezzanine level.
You'll be able to book into a 10 minute speed session with a mentor of your choice to talk about issues you're facing which fall in their areas of expertise. There are only 6 slots for each mentor and the tickets are first come first served so make sure if you do book that you attend and arrive on time so we can fit everyone in! Don't worry, you'll be able to catch the mentors during the networking afterwards if you needed to follow up on anything.

Increasing your Profile in the Industry
Lisa Myers, CEO, Verve Search
Lisa Myers started working in SEO in 2005 from a marketing and web project management background. She quickly realised that to be able to learn as much as possible she had to get involved in the industry. In the early days she spent an obscene amount of time commenting and questioning everything on the (then) SEOmoz blog, she started her first blog in 2006 (on blogspot can you believe it), attended her first conference (SES) in Feb 2007, launched SEO-Chicks.com in June that year and by November 2007 she spoke at her first conference; SMX London. Lisa has now spoken at over 30 conferences worldwide on SEO, Social Media and Content Marketing. She co-founded Stateofsearch.com with Bas van den Beld in 2009 and in the same year also started her own agency; Verve Search. Since 2005 Lisa has also won a string of awards including Best Newcomer at B2B Marketing Awards 2007, Blackberry Women & Technology Awards “Best use of Technology” 2008, Management Today “35 under 35 high achievers list” in 2009, and was UK Search Awards “Search Personality of the Year” in 2011.
Lisa can advise on how to pitch to speak to a conference, creating a blog and getting your name out there as well as tips on networking and getting to know people in the industry. And not last, how to use your profile for career progression and even starting up yourself.

Progressing Your Career in Search
Ned Poulter, SEO Manager at Miinto Group
Ned is a young, yet familiar face in the SEO industry across the UK and Europe. His passion for the industry, as well as everything 'online', means that he maintains a fairly prolific blogging schedule and that he wears his 'geek badge' with pride.
His background has seen him operating in a variety of roles, first agency-side (for award-winning agencies PushON and Quirk), now in-house for Miinto, Scandinavia's leading fashion site. In this role he oversees the International SEO strategy for 5 markets, working with the local marketing teams to develop creative approaches to achieving organic search results, increasing inbound traffic and ultimately driving revenue.
He's also a very approachable guy and is always up for lending a helping hand, imparting advice, or generally geeking out over a beer or two. So be sure to say hello!
Looking to progress your career? Maybe within your company or maybe you're looking for a change of scene? How do you approach companies? And how to find out which companies should you approach? Maybe you want to know what agency life is like compared to in-house? Or what other disciplines could/should you consider? (if not strictly looking into SEO)
I am a big believer in talent and that everything is possible. With the right focus and application of talent the digital industry provides wonderful opportunities for many starting out, or early in their career. Understanding which avenue to take, and how to aim for the top, are all things that I will hope to communicate during my mentoring sessions.
You never know, I might know someone looking for someone just like you!
